Strand 2: Effective pupil premium strategies

Strand 2: Effective pupil premium strategies

  • 42 schools (29 primary, 11 secondary,  1 special secondary, 1 PRU) are involved as receiving support. 25 of these meet the eligibility criteria for the funding.
  • 8 Pupil Premium Reviewers have been identified, and we have developed a Bury model.
  • This will allow schools to collaborate in Learning Threes to support each other's reviews.
  • Schools will have a say on when, in the period June to November 2018, they would like their review to take place. It is possible to run additional reviews in 2019 if needed.
  • The report for each review will be written by the lead reviewer, and will be the property of the school to use as they wish.
  • Mental Health First Aid training programme has provided two 2-day courses, to which a total of 47 schools have sent delegates.
  • We are establishing a Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy Group, to support the roll-out of learning from this experience, to benefit staff and pupils in Bury schools.
  • There is scope in the future for other developments such as support with attendance.
